Teen Parent Program-Service Project 2013
The Young Parent Program is a transitional high school, serving female students 9th through 12th grades. The goal of the Young Parent Program is to allow each student the opportunity to further her education by returning to, and graduating from, her home high school, following the birth of her child. A full range of high school courses are provided for each student to assist in her academic success and to prepare the student for her college and career goals
Upon arrival we were met by the Principal, Emily Liddell, and her Secretary, Mary Duersch. We set up the various baby and child items around the table. The students were released to come down and take a seat. The Principal led the students in a game that involved passing the items around and finally ending with their gift for their child. Next, we distributed the items for the students and played the game again. Each student and child left with several items. |
Teresa and Elaine took the opportunity to hold and love some of the students babies. This was a very rewarding service project.
